Month Three

Well school is certainly picking up and so is our busy schedule. However, now that we are getting into "meatier" work, we are enjoying MFW so much more.

Ella has been learning art with "I Can Do All Things" and she continues to improve daily.
This is just a picture she drew in her free time. I love it.

One of our homeschool groups did an event at a local nature center and we had so much fun. She learned all about different animals and their habitats. She was even able to touch a snake....ick. I opted out of that one!

Here she is feeding the fish and turtles.
And here is one of the turtles up close.

We are learning American History and it starts out learning about the flag. So a few weeks after we learned about the flag I see this on the dry erase board....not completely accurate but still cute. :)

We also went to the Fire Museum with our homeschool group. Elijah was able to join us on that trip and he really enjoyed it. We even tried out the "fire room", which we've always been too nervous to try in the past.

Deep in thought.

As for the work... We've been learning about the different names of Jesus and how he is the Light of the World. We decorated a candle to light each night at dinner as a reminder but wouldn't you know I can't seem to find pictures of it.

We are also learning about the Indians and made our own wigwams and teepees. She had so much fun with that! Especially painting them. She is so artistic.

Elijah- just painting his orange paper.

We forgot to put the twigs in the teepees!
Oh well.

During Elijah's learning time he made towers and structures out of toothpicks and marshmallows. He sure enjoyed eating them afterwards!

Another piece of artwork.

Current spelling words.

And more artwork!

For science we are learning about the sun, stars, and constellations. She is really enjoying that. She also still attends the Pink Palace once a month for a science class where she is learning all about physical science. So much fun and a nice little break for me.

We found this little guy on our window and had a nice time learning more about him.
They have got to be the coolest insects ever!

Can't wait to see what's in store over the next month! I hope to do better blogging each month about it, getting more detailed and such. We'll see.
