We LOVE Alpine Village. This is the 4th year we have gone and by far it was the best year. For many reasons. Probably the biggest reason was because Elijah was old enough to participate and enjoy himself. :)
Alpine Village is held each year at a small local church. They set up the entire gymnasium in the most beautiful Christmas decor. Kyle and I were really marvelling at it this year. It is so nicely done, so thoroughly done, every little detail is in place. It is truly amazing. It must take a pretty serious amount of people to get this all set up. So what is it? They have a bunch of small shops set up with little activities for the kids to participate in.
They made their own candy cane decoration.
Ella helped Elijah make a Christmas card.
They also got to decorate a wooden cross with buttons, decorate a gingerbread cookie, picked out some candy as well as a new book.
They made spinning tops.
But besides all these fun little "shops", there was so much more to enjoy.
A real lamb. Not really but shhh!!
Ella was an angel.
Elijah was a snowman.
A nice horse ride.
A tattoo while waiting to see...
SANTA!
Ella is slightly embarrassed.
Santa looks a little spooked himself.
Elijah is too big to cry but he sure was unsure of the whole situation!
And then, the most favorite thing of all...
Fake snow.
You do what you gotta do...
Immediately after exiting the snow area, Elijah went on a sneezing frenzy. Poor guy, he sneezed probably 20 times in less than a minute. It just wouldn't stop.
We blew his nose and that seemed to help. We thought it had to be the snow.
Right before we left we ran into some friends who were in the snow so both the kids ran in there again. Sure enough as soon as he came out, just sneezing away. Who would have thought that anyone could be allergic to fake snow?
One more pic for fun....
Check out those plastic smiles.
